Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Westernpips (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit westernpips.com, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, buy a licence or use your customer account, why we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It does not cover trading data inside the software you run on your own computer or server; that is described in the License Agreement and the product documentation.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Westernpips. For any question about this policy or your data, write to [email protected] with “Privacy” in the subject line.
2. Data we collect
Data you give us
- When you contact us by e-mail, Telegram, WhatsApp, WeChat, the contact page or the support chat: your name or username, contact details, and the content of your messages and any files you send.
- When you subscribe to the newsletter: your e-mail address and the date of subscription.
- When you buy a licence or use your customer account at my.westernpips.com: your name, e-mail address, login details, the products and licences you hold, order and payment records, and your communication with support. We do not store full card numbers; payments are handled by the payment provider you choose at checkout.
Data collected automatically
- Analytics: pages visited, time on page, referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type. We use Google Analytics and the LiveInternet counter for this.
- Server and security logs: IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, browser string and error codes. Our hosting and our content delivery and security provider (Cloudflare) process these to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
- Support chat: if the Comm100 chat window loads, it receives technical data about your browser and, when you start a chat, what you type.
- Embedded videos: tutorial videos are shown as images until you click play. Only then is the YouTube player loaded, from the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain, and YouTube receives your IP address and browser data.
- Fonts: the site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.

4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use the following:
| Provider | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Westernpips | Essential: site and account functions, such as keeping you signed in at my.westernpips.com | Session cookies |
| Cloudflare | Essential: security and bot protection | __cf_bm and similar |

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site or your account from working. To opt out of Google Analytics on all websites, you can use Google’s browser add-on for that purpose.
5. Who we share data with
We share personal data only as far as needed for the purposes above:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf: website hosting, Cloudflare (delivery and security), Google (Analytics, Fonts, e-mail), LiveInternet (statistics), Comm100 (support chat), YouTube (videos you choose to play), and the payment providers used at checkout.
- Messaging services you choose to contact us through, such as Telegram, WhatsApp or WeChat. Their own privacy policies apply to what they process.
- Professional advisers and authorities, such as accountants, lawyers, or a court or regulator, when required by law or to establish or defend legal claims.
- A buyer or successor if the business, or part of it, is sold or reorganised, under the same protections as this policy.
6. International transfers
Our team and several of our service providers are located in different countries, so your data may be processed outside the country where you live, including outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as adequacy decisions or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses used by these providers.
7. How long we keep data
- Customer account, licence and order records: for as long as your account or licence is active, then for the period required by accounting and tax law.
- Support correspondence: up to three years after the last contact, unless it is part of a customer record.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics: according to the retention set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months for user-level data.
- Server and security logs: for a short period, usually a few weeks, unless needed to investigate an incident.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted, unless we must keep it by law;
- restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interest, including any direct marketing;
- receive data you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter, without affecting earlier processing.
To use any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm your identity and will reply within one month. If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to customer data is limited to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your account and do not share it. We will never ask for your account password, broker passwords or payment card details by e-mail or messenger.
10. Age limit
Our products are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page and, for customers, by e-mail.
12. Contact
Privacy questions and requests: [email protected]. Other questions: see the contact page. Related documents: License Agreement and Risk Warning.
